I am responsible for managing and mentoring a team of paraplanners, ensuring work is allocated effectively and deadlines are consistently met. I play a key role in developing the team’s skills through coaching, performance reviews, and ongoing support.
My role involves reviewing and approving financial plans and reports to ensure they are accurate, compliant, and meet internal quality standards. I work closely with advisers and compliance teams to maintain clear communication and alignment on client strategies.
Additionally, I drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency across the paraplanning function. Strong technical knowledge is essential, and I support complex client cases and ensure the team stays updated with changes in legislation, products, and financial planning tools.
My Professional Background
With over 20 years of experience in the financial planning industry, I bring a strong foundation underpinned by a BA (Hons) in Business Management, a PGCE qualification, and a Diploma in Financial Planning. I developed a particular expertise in pensions, especially defined benefit schemes, during my five years at Barclays Bank, where I worked within the Senior Executive Pensions team.
Throughout my career, I have provided tailored financial advice and high-quality paraplanning support within a range of independent financial advisory firms. For over eight years, I have been part of the team at Baggette + Co., where I am known for my technical accuracy, client-focused approach, and collaborative working style.
I have a strong interest in leadership and have enjoyed mentoring and supporting advisers throughout my career. I am passionate about process improvement and team development, always looking for ways to enhance both client experience and internal efficiency.
What Drives Me in My Work
Working for the Financial Planners at Baggette & Co I aim to combine technical excellence with team development. I take pride in delivering high-quality, compliant, and client-focused financial plans—but equally, I’m passionate about supporting and mentoring others to grow in their roles. I’m motivated by creating a collaborative environment where my team feel confident, supported, and empowered to do their best work.
I enjoy refining processes to improve efficiency and consistency, while ensuring our work contributes meaningfully to client outcomes. Ultimately, I’m driven by the balance of leadership, technical challenge, and the satisfaction of helping both clients and team members succeed for a great Wealth Management firm based in Poole.
Life Outside of Work
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and our 10-year-old son, often heading out on family outdoor trips. We love to travel and especially enjoy beach holidays together. I’m a keen DIY enthusiast and like taking on home improvement projects at the weekend, and I’m always looking for some new job to take on. I also enjoy music, watching films, most sports, and passionately follow Arsenal Football Club and play Fantasy Football.
