Baggette + Co. Wealth Management was proud to sponsor the very first event in Lewis-Manning Hospice Care’s Sunflower Series: In Conversation, held at the beautiful Merley House in Wimborne.
As primary sponsors of the series, it was a privilege to support an evening that brought together over 80 guests from across Dorset for a truly memorable and meaningful experience.
An Evening of Insight, Humanity and Storytelling
The first event of the series welcomed renowned journalist Kate Adie CBE DL, one of the world’s most respected war correspondents. In conversation with Lewis-Manning Hospice Care’s Patron, Felicity Irwin DL, Kate shared reflections from her extraordinary career reporting from some of the most challenging environments across the globe.
Her stories went far beyond headlines. What resonated most throughout the evening was the consistent thread of humanity — the importance of dignity, respect and kindness, even in the most difficult circumstances.
Guests also had the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session and meet Kate following the talk, adding a personal and engaging element to an already special event.
Why Supporting Our Local Community Matters
At Baggette + Co., supporting organisations like Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is a fundamental part of who we are.
Lewis-Manning Hospice Care plays a vital role across Dorset, providing exceptional, person-centred support to individuals and families facing life-limiting illness. Their work focuses not only on care, but also on education, awareness and building a sustainable future for hospice services within the local community.
These values strongly align with our own. While the work Lewis-Manning Hospice Care does is truly invaluable, we share a common belief in putting people first — taking the time to listen, understand what matters most, and provide support in a way that is thoughtful, personal and compassionate.
Jo Hjalmas, Managing Director of Baggette + Co. Wealth Management, adds
“Events like this are a reminder of the strength and compassion within our local community. Lewis-Manning Hospice Care provides truly exceptional support, and we’re proud to stand alongside them and contribute in a meaningful way.”
Looking Ahead
The Sunflower Series promises to bring more inspiring voices and powerful conversations to the local community, and we are delighted to continue supporting future events as the series grows.
We would like to thank the entire team at Lewis-Manning Hospice Care for organising such a thoughtful and well-executed evening, as well as Kate Adie for sharing her remarkable experiences.
We look forward to continuing our support and helping raise awareness for the incredible work Lewis-Manning Hospice Care does across Dorset.
