Harry Shivas Chair of Financial Adviser Investment Committee

Baggette + Co. Wealth Management Appoints Harry Shivas as Chair of Investment Committee

, ,

Baggette + Co. Wealth Management has appointed Chartered Financial Planner Harry Shivas as the new Chair of its Investment Committee, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to independent research, robust investment oversight and delivering positive long-term outcomes for clients across Dorset and Hampshire.

Harry will now chair the Committee responsible for overseeing the firm’s investment research and review process, taking on the role from CEO Oscar Hjalmas. The appointment represents another significant milestone in Harry’s career and reflects the confidence the business has in his expertise, leadership and commitment to financial planning.

The Investment Committee plays a central role within the firm, reviewing investment solutions, monitoring market developments and helping ensure clients’ investments remain aligned with their long-term objectives.

Harry said:

“Most clients understandably never see the work that happens behind the scenes, but there’s a huge amount of research and analysis involved in deciding where client money is invested.

“Our role is to continually review the options available, challenge our thinking and make sure we’re providing solutions that remain suitable and good value for clients.”

Helping Shape the Firm’s Investment Strategy

As an independent financial planning firm, Baggette + Co. is not restricted to a single provider or investment solution. Instead, the Investment Committee researches and reviews options from across the market, helping ensure advisers have access to solutions that can be aligned to each client’s individual circumstances, goals and investment needs.

Bringing together expertise from across the business, the research element of the Committee is made up of Chair Harry Shivas, Independent Financial Adviser Warren Kavanagh, Paraplanner Dan Humphries and Investment Consultant Nick Kesley.

The Committee is responsible for researching investment providers and solutions, meeting fund managers, reviewing performance, ensuring they continue to share the same values and investment approach as the firm, and assessing whether existing arrangements continue to meet the needs of clients.

It also reviews new opportunities and regularly challenges existing thinking to help ensure clients continue to benefit from a carefully considered investment approach.

Harry added:

“What excites me most about this role is the opportunity to keep improving what we offer.

“Every client is different, and one of our priorities is making sure advisers have access to a range of solutions that can be tailored to individual circumstances and objectives.”

A Natural Progression

Harry joined Baggette + Co. Wealth Management in 2025 and has quickly become a key member of both the Financial Adviser team and the Investment Committee.

Before becoming an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA), Harry spent several years working in investment research, analysing investment solutions and helping shape investment propositions for financial planning firms. That experience, combined with his Chartered Financial Planner status, has given him a strong understanding of how investment decisions are researched, implemented and monitored over the long term.

His appointment as Chair sees him take responsibility for leading the Committee’s work and helping guide the firm’s investment strategy moving forward.

Strengthening Investment Oversight

Oscar Hjalmas, CEO of Baggette + Co. Wealth Management, said:

“We’re delighted to see Harry take on the role of Chair. He has made a huge contribution to the Committee since joining the business and has consistently demonstrated both technical expertise and a genuine passion for investment research.

“From the first day he joined the firm, it was clear how much he enjoys this side of financial planning. He’s always looking at how we can improve what we offer clients, and I’m looking forward to seeing the Committee continue to evolve under his leadership.”

Continuing Strategic Growth Across Dorset and Hampshire

The appointment forms part of Baggette + Co. Wealth Management’s continued investment in expertise, client outcomes and long-term financial planning excellence.

Established in Poole in 1986, the independent financial advisory (IFA) firm continues to strengthen its presence across Poole, Bournemouth, Dorset, Hampshire and the wider South Coast.

Today, Baggette + Co. supports clients with retirement planning, pensions, investments and wealth management, helping individuals and families make confident financial decisions for the future.
